Good Evening! I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your well wishes and emails (which are stacked up like cord wood and will be answered as soon as I can get my life under control)...
Talk about being banished to outer Siberia!
Boy, it feels good to be sort of online again. The "sort of" will be explained momentarily...
Where do I start?
Well, after the computer went on the fritz (by the way, it's a lap top), life just moved at warp speed. Sometimes things really do work out for the best because as upset as I was about being in computer exile, I had no idea how far behind I was from the month and a half I was sick. So I spent my time away trying to play catch up. Chores were calling my name...
Over...
And over...
And over again...
And again...
And again...
Some of the chores were fun as we had Christmas in February (this is the munchkin table)...
I realize that Christmas in February sounds a bit upside down...
But we had lots of fun...
And I took the path of least resistance with things like the mantle...
Then I fell at a fundraiser. Tripped up the stairs. Yeah, no good deed goes unpunished. ;-)
But to make a long story short, I tried to make hay while I was computerless. No sitting around and contemplating my navel...
Then, just as my exile was over, I got word that we were going to have to do something about a massive tree limb (sort of like half the tree) that was hanging over and rubbing against our electrical line (the main one to the St. Augustine house). The line had to be moved to the other side of the tree, and a tree guard had to be installed...
Sounds simple, but it took DAYS to get it straightened out and to get the men here and gone (they were going to hack the tree to bits due to a miscommunication). But it's done, and the squirrels and I are happy campers!
To make a long story short, I am in St. Augustine with limited computer access on a "stick" so I am typing rapidly because this is majorly expensive. But at least I'm typing. YEA!
I hope to be blogging again very soon. I have to be here to finish up some things that have to be done, and then I can go home and have fun blogging and catching up with YOU. I took lots of pictures and did some tablescapes. So as soon as I download them, I'll share. That and the plans for our bedroom. Mr. Magpie is about to get a very girly "pink" bedroom. You know how I love pink, well, he is going to love it, too. More on that later. ;-)
In the mean time, thank you so much for your caring and concern and for keeping the light burning for me...
I have missed you, and I can't wait to catch up and see what you all have been doing! :-)

P.S. The squirrels are enjoying the nuts from the centerpieces the garden club created for the Christmas tour. Their legacy lives on as that squirrel is enjoying nuts that are bigger than he is. ;-)

I'm first, yippee. Hello dear Sheila, I am so happy to be in touch with you. Wow, You have been through a lot. Your squirrel photos are awesome. You had to be on the watch for quite awhile. Love those cute little pests. They keep getting into our bird food. They come up to our 20 foot deck to get to the bird feeder which hangs way out beyond the deck. Dangerous but they don't care. HA!
I'm glad to hear things have been accomplished and that you are pleased. With all you have been through, you deserve a break. Your table looks fab. You have a way with tablescapes and I love to see what you share. I am looking forward to your latest pics. Is your computer actually fixed? I pray that it is working now.
It is late so I will retire now. Bill just poked his head out and is urging me to give up visiting. So often late at night is when I finally have time to play on my computer.

You poor thing! I'm so happy to see you... AND that things are coming back to normal for you! LOVE the squirrel pics. "Too Cute"! It's same ol', same ol' here! I'm STILL buried in white although we are having LOTS of Flooding rains that are TRYING to melt it, AGH!!!

I really enjoyed your outdoor images from St Augustine and the cheeky squirrels. I think my squirrels are back. They disappeared when their tree was cut down. I was so happy to see one the other day.

First off, I do pray you are okay from your fall at the fundraiser, you are correct, no good deed goes unpunished. You know who wants to see to that but the lord sees and will make it right. I hope the flu is behind you as well.
Looks like the kids had a darling Christmas table to celebrate a long overdue holiday gathering. I do hope all went well in your celebration.
Cute post with the squirrels, seems you have some permanent guest in that tree. I rather think they would have played havoc on your house if the tree had of been taken down. Miscommunication can bring down a house if not careful. Its like that ole saying, "Measure many time, cut once"... the same thing applies to everything when it comes to people. I sound like a broken record with workers come here. Even the lawn guy expects me to come out and repeat what I want done but one cant be too careful. GOOD to know the tree is still standing.
I hope you will get things straighten out and back home soon to spiff up your bedroom to all pink goodness. I can tell your Mr.Magpie will do anything as long as you are happy... a happy woman...makes for a happy husband.

I'm glad you posted the short version of the whole tree thing, it would have cost a bloody fortune to tell the whole horrid story. Speaking of bloody, those tree guys are darn lucky they didn't cut the bejeezus out of that tree or between you and the squirrels would have ripped them a new a**hole. Oops, did I say that?

I am happy you are back, but so understand about the not feeling well and catch up. I shared your post with dh since I was laughing. One thing I notice in your pics is that the squirrel isn't digging up your yard or flowers. Here in the corn, that is what they do, among many other strange things. When the squirrels are plentiful in our yard, we can sit in our kitchen nook and get entertainment that beats anything on tv.
Can't wait til you are blogging regularly once again!

Third, I have uttered the "no good deed..." phrase many times. My mom's been in the hospital since Friday (she'll be fine) and I've been checking in in her dog. And he bit me. Hard.
