I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the United States military throughout time, as well as the families of those patriots for their personal sacrifices. I would also like to thank Presidents Bush and Obama for seeing to it that justice prevailed. God bless America, and God bless our allies who have fought side by side with us throughout the centuries! And praise to the Lord for ALWAYS fighting on the side of justice and seeing us through to victory!
And while this news is glorious, there is other news that is not. I'd like to take the time to remember our friend Glen and others who died during 9/11 as well as the citizens of the United States, particularly those in the state of Alabama, where so much devastation and loss of life has occurred from the horrific storms last week. I'm so sorry, and I hope you know we are praying for you and sending our love across the miles. Please let us know what we can do to help.
While I will be visiting you at your blogs when I can, I am battling an old injury that appears to have resurfaced, making blogging painful at times. I just need to rest it, and that is what I will be doing for the forseeable future. So I will visit your blogs as I am able. Prayers are always appreciated. :-)

My trip is set for 5/26 to 6/8. I definitely hope that we will be able to connect while I'm there. I'll be staying with my in-laws on the Space Coast and my friend Julia, in Winter Springs.
Yes, indeed, I am right there with you saluting our awesome military. A huge thank you to them for all they do to protect us.
Also, my husband's cousin and her family live in Tuscaloosa. We heard from her mother that they are all fine...but, of course, so many others weren't. Our hearts and prayers definitely go out to them.

Hooray for the Navy Seals! I think becoming a Navy Seal, and following through with BEING one, is the most difficult job anyone can do. So I especially salute all those who accomplished the mission yesterday. And a job well done to President Obama (and President Bush before him) for 'sticking with it.' And Sheila, I hope you will be feeling well soon! You will be having a lot of your blogging buddies' prayers coming your way (including mine, of course) so you should be back to normal in no time. This is a wonderful post. Today is a good day for the country and for those who lost loved ones on 9/11. It is also wonderful to take a moment to think of those who defend us each and every day. I can only imagine what a task those young people had to do yesterday and they all survived and succeeded in their mission.
I'm also still horrified by the storms in the south. All of those people are still missing...I can't wrap my brain around it.
I'm so sorry you aren't 100 percent. You are certainly in my prayers...take your time to heal and we will be waiting for your return.

Sheila, You are so right! I am so thankful for the good news and am so grateful for the work that the US and allies have done in the middle East. It has not been easy and it has been at a terrible cost, but freedom is never free, therefore we must protect our freedom, always.
My heart goes out to the people in Alabama! God help those precious families who are mourning the loss of their loved ones.

Good morning Sheila, this is a beautiful tribute to our countries finest military. Amen to your lovely text paying honor to those who so deserve recognition. My prayers are constant for all who have suffered in the latest storms. We had a tornado just about 18 miles from us that same night. It did some damage on many structures and we had loss of life as well. Nothing like Alabama but who knew a tornado could come in the mountains like it did. Very unusual.
My prayers go out to you too my friend and I wish you healing and good health. I hate to hear you are not well my dear friend.
All is well here but it is in the 30's this morning. The heat is on 'again.' Winter just goes on and on. My spring flowers are all looking great in spite of the chilly weather.

I'm right with you on this! Don't we have the most wonderful and courageous military? I saw a Navy Seal on the news last night talking about how many men actually make it. The challenges they go through and the determination to actually make the cut to put their lives on the line to protect us. God bless them.... and alllll of the others in the military as well. :-) I am one grateful American, that's for sure.

Both my daughters are in tornado alley but were spared harm. Both have friends who were affected. Kim did have a large oak tree fall in her yard. It reminded me of the tree that fell on your property. Fell right between her home and an outbuilding (I almost typed outhouse).

We have a neighbor boy who is in that particular group of Navy Seals! He still seems like a teenager to me. No one knows who in that company was involved, but if I were in his parents shoes, I would have great pride but also would be nervous all of the time.

Hope you are feeling a little better,S. We lost several friends in 9/11, seemed like we went to service after service. The Obits in our local newspaper went on for pages. I am glad justice was done.
I am so sorry about your friend. We lost an unborn grandchild and a dear friend to pneumonia last month, and yes, it does make you look at life differently.
