Sometimes The Good Guys Really Do Win!

During the chaos that was my life this summer (and it seems that every time I turned around something else happened), I missed one of the most important events in the life of one of the most important people in my life.

My cousin got married!

And not only did he get married, he married an absolutely beautiful girl, inside and out.

You know we are always girls, don't you? ;-)

Now, the good news is, I know and love this girl's family, and while she is younger than I and while I haven't seen her in years, I could not be more thrilled for both of them.

Here are my cousin's wife and I in this photo -- she, the cute little sweetie on the right hand end of the front row next to her big sister, and I, dead center in the second row from the bottom, being poked in the seat by a friend's big sister (note the evil gleam in her eye). My cousin's wife's cousin and my lifelong friend D is on the back row right. Who knew when we went to this children's TV show that one day this sweet girl and I would be cousins and that D and I would be cousins by marriage! ;-)

Sometimes, the good guys really do win, and this is a case of that!

My cousin's name was that of my father (they even have the same little cleft in their chins), and since I'm a Daddy's Girl, I have a proprietary interest in this boy's happiness.

He is a great guy and the perfect gentleman and as sweet as can be. You just can't help but love him, and I do. But more importantly, his girl does! ;-)

I mean how could you not love a man who quotes Shakespeare from memory? Please!

Do you know what it means for your heart to rest easy over your loved ones? Mine rests easy knowing that a favorite cousin is married to a lovely lady, and I mean lovely and lady in every sense of those words. And they are a beautiful couple!

To that end, I want to wish these two lovebirds all the happiness in the world! I am THRILLED for you both, and I pray God's richest blessings are yours, both now and always...

This is the Day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it!

XO,

Sheila (Mrs. Magpie)

P.S. Want to see what we gave them for a wedding gift?

Yeah, I thought so! ;-)

I was so thrilled that he was marrying her, I/we sent her/them, something in the famous blue box, and thankfully, she/they loved it! Score!

Click HERE to see. It's the Lily of the Valley pitcher. I loved the shape and the design. She said it was gorgeous in person. :-)
