Copycat Challenge: Frosty Dines or How to Build a Snowman Tablescape for Kids of All Ages (1 to 101)!

I'd like to interrupt my regularly scheduled blog post to bring you something I haven't done in a while, a tablescape!

A few days ago, one of my favorite bloggers and I were discussing a tablescape I had done for my antique club's Christmas party. Upon seeing a snapshot of it, she said, "I could never do that!" To which I replied, "Bet you could!"

A few days later, I saw that another blogger was doing a tablescape challenge (which I missed!), but it gave me the idea to look for a simple tablescape that could be easily copied, using what was on hand.

In this case, I googled and found a cute snowman composed of white dishes, everyday flatware, turquoise napkins, and a few other odds and ends HERE (IBB At Home)...

Then I found another tablescape in reds, a color I had on hand. This snowman ( on the silver place mat below), and many more, came from BHG found HERE.

The beauty of these plate snowmen is that they can be constructed easily (and just as cutely) with paper products. Snowmen can also be used throughout the winter season with a variety of colors on their scarves and hats!

In my case, I used a red napkin for the scarf and our dark-handled bamboo flatware for his twiggy arms, adding a plastic candy cane (a party favor ornament) from Dollar Tree in his fork hand...

I also used our red plaid runners that Nancy made from a tablecloth I thrifted at Marshall's several years ago and our white plates with gold bands (because I had then on hand)...

York Peppermint Patties composed the buttons and the eyes. You could use Oreos or any treat you desire...

And Frosty has a baby carrot for a nose and a hat made of two cocktail napkins a red one with a green one peeking out just under it. A knife forms the base of the hat...

I thought I would just leave the candy in the wrapper for the buttons, but my curiosity got the better of me. I wanted to see Frosty fully dressed (ANY excuse to eat the candy!)...

Please excuse Frosty as he changes..

Looking dapper, my man! But the table would look better with some glasses in that tablescape...

These red ones were a gift from Mom some time ago, and they have been used in a variety of tablescapes.

You could use red plastic cups if you were using paper plates and napkins!

Hmmmm... as cute as you are, Frosty, something is still missing!

The corner of your scarf needs a little something something...

Like maybe a snowflake from Dollar Tree (hint, they come several to a pack)...

That's the ticket!

Frosty may be jaunty, but that centerpiece needs help!

While I love the top hat, those snowballs are starting to melt...

We'll just flip it over and go from there!

And left the black top hat for everyone to share and moved the knife brim to the bottom for Frosty's perch...
