What's In YOUR Favorite Cupboard???

Good Morning! I decided to play along today with my sweet friend Shelia of Note Songs for her "Heart of the Home: Favorite Cupboard Party"...




Since chaos has been reigning supreme in our lives lately, I am going to use some pictures I had...



Plus some I quickly took of our dining room cabinet in the St. Augustine house...



Why this cabinet?



Because I've had various people tell me they love this cabinet and would like to see a closer view of what's in it, so here we go...



The cabinet is actually an antique book case I bought some time back to house china in the dining room. I liked the height and the style and felt it worked well with the cottage since both date to the 1800's...



It's a good place to hang a banner when you're celebrating a special birthday or some other festive event...





I have always kept a variety of my white china and serving pieces in it, but I vary it from time to time...



The bottom shelf houses our lighthouse plate...



And some casserole dishes like this rabbit...



And this duck...



And this white dish (bottom center) that I found tucked into the pantry at home and that I think might be my SIL's. So my dear, if you're reading this, is it yours??? If so, please feel free to come rescue it or not! ;-)



But, for safety's sake, I try to concentrate the heavy-hitters that weigh the most on the bottom shelf...



I love the cabinet's antique glass in all its waviness...



And I have collected quite a few nautical things for the cabinet like this boat pitcher...



And this seahorse from my MIL...



And these Nantucket baskets and the tray behind them that looks like wicker...



And of course, our Nantucket china by Wedgwood that is scattered throughout this cabinet and the kitchen cupboards as well...



In front of the Nantucket plates are sea anemone china pitchers, both tall/thin ones...



Plus short/stout ones...



There's a row of tole twig candle holders...



And let's not forget the carp salt and pepper shakers, one here...



And a sassy one there...



Then there's my pitcher that Becky gave me last spring as a hostess gift...



And what china cabinet is complete without seashells...



Tucked here...



And there...



And everywhere...



Then there's a carafe in its wicker sleeve...



And a stray sailboat...



Plus a sand bucket complete with a tiny skulking gator nearby and a dragonfly because it's from Betty Jane, my friends Janet and Gretchen's mother, and matriarch of a family who is near and dear to my heart...



Along with a palmetto frond charger and this shell that I dearly love from my sweet cousin/friend Nancy...



The one thing about a glass-doored cabinet is that it forces you to keep things neat...



And this one is always in some semblance of order...



Which makes it nice...



Just don't look behind the doors of my pantry... unless, of course, you like to do scary. ;-)
