Missing You and Hopefully Will Have A New Computer Before I Turn Grey!

Dear Friends,

I want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you who have contacted me through what has turned out to be a blog sabbatical I never intended to take. As I mentioned in my header, I've had computer issues (my laptop has never worked well from almost the minute I got it), and I can only borrow Mr. Magpie's work computer/laptop when he brings it home. Since it's his work computer, I have only been checking emails when I can, and I tried to answer your posts to me.

Where have I been? Well, that's a good question! I've been up and down the state with sick friends, funerals, dealing with real estate on the market, dealing with volunteer activities including being in charge of the Merchandise Tent at a national BBQ contest held in Florida (a HUGE job), dealing with Mr. Magpie's car and mine that had major repairs (I have a story for you about his!), dealing with an allergic reaction to some cleaner I used and had to move out, etc. The etc. is just not worth posting because you don't want to hear that. Just know that I am not that character in the funny papers with the cloud over his head. ;-) However, I might be Pigpen with a cloud of dust encircling me since I'm on a cleaning rampage due to my inability to blog!

Also know, that in spite of everything, I am still smiling in my heart and thinking of you. I miss you and blogging, and even though I've been encouraged by blogging friends to post and not visit, that is just not how I roll. I'm a reciprocal blogger, and I am constitutionally unable to change my nature. Even if I weren't a reciprocal blogger, I have lost the cord to my camera and can't download pictures which have been few and far between during these last weeks. My plan is to get a computer (and a camera cord) in the not too distant future and rejoin you here in Blogland. Yea!

So in the interim, I am wishing you a Happy Spring with all that's best and brightest. We have had amazing weather with low humidity which has been a help in ways too numerous to mention. Oh, and just in case you think my life has been one downhill roller coaster, one fun thing I did was host a garden club luncheon in January, and the main centerpiece (the one from the florist) will just take your breath away! I have some pictures that if I can figure out how to download them, I will post in the future. I have to take my hat off to all of you for your inspirations in table decor. Let me tell you, we knocked their socks off, and I kept smiling thinking how much I owed to you. Many thanks from the bottom of my heart! :-)

Love you...

XO,

Mrs. Magpie (Sheila)

P.S. I figured out how to copy the code to post an old picture. Sorry it's old, but it's all I have!!!

Hey sweetie!! Sure have missed you!!
Sounds like you have been busy, busy, busy!! Down here in Debary, we are planning not one, but two weddings for daughters 2 and 3! The first one is April 7th, and the second is on May 19th!! It's nutty here for sure, but having fun, and once were past the middle of May...the calm will return, and there will only be three of us in our house! So weird!

Sure would love to see you!! Maybe we can get together after wedding #2. I miss talking to you, and have some incredible things I'd like to share with you!!

I'll be in touch!
Love you lots!

Big hugs!

So good to see you back, Sheila. I was, just this very morning, getting the St. Bernards ready to launch a "search and rescue" mission to find you. Fortunately, I don't need to do that now.

Computers. Ah, yes. Delightful creatures, aren't they? I've had to get a new one. Sadly. Expensively.

Hope in the near future you'll be able to visit us regularly.

Blessings and Bear hugs.

I love how you said:

"I'm a reciprocal blogger, and I am constitutionally unable to change my nature."

Me too! I have the same problem. I really do miss your posts when you are not posting. Not only do I love your chatty nature, but you always have the best photos to go with it. Fie on the lost camera cord!!! Fie!!

Come back soon and please take care of yourself in the interim.

Oh Sheila-what happened to that better year we were going to have?? It sounds as if you have been riding a roller coaster of ups and downs! I do miss you around here, although I have so much trouble keeping up with things myself. I

I have also been on a cleaning binge and by the time I finish my project of the day, I can barely think. I've finally gotten back into the swing of things this week, but who knows what next week will bring!!

Take care and get that new computer soon. We miss you:)

I'm so happy to hear from you again - I miss you when you are not here with your wonderful photos and stories.

It is always something, don't you think? Even the small annoyances add up and drain us, but then, like you, we find the joy in things and go on and beat the odds. I'm glad that things are looking up - and look forward to more fun on your blog.

Hello Shelia~ Thank you for taking time to stop by. I've had soo many distractions calling for my attnetion as well.
I'm looking forward to your return. until then...I'd like to
to wish you and your family a wonderful Easter.

I'm always flooded with memories of wearing fluffy dresses and petticoats with fluffy hair to match.

As a young adult one memory stands out in my mind. On one occasion when I couldn't be home for Easter my mom sent me an Easter box, which included dyed eggs...I refer to them as "died" Easter eggs. Snail mail produced a box accompanied with a foul odor. I still laugh hysterically when I think about the stink bomb going off when it was opened. Fortunately I was able to rescue the remaining treats from my box.

Getting these small glimpses of spring has me craving a weather change.

I'm more than ready to welcome a fresh season of color.

Sweet wishes,

Sara

Just stopping by to say hello. Despite being down on the computer end -the blog looks great - love the background. Cute cute little guy in the photo.
I guess blogging just takes a back seat or sabbatical now and then. Me? I just open and close blogs! Ha. I reopened the Google blog after BJ (Sweet Nothings) couldn't post yet again on my WP blog. I got tired of Google problems w/my WP id too. So, there you have it. Some take a sabbatical others just meander.
I'm sorry to hear there's been some tough stuff in there. Sounds like your faring well through it all. Including the allergies. Ugh on those. I know what you mean.
Take care - say hey when you can! Hope you get a new computer and camera cord soon!
Hugs, Jenn

Dearest Sweet Sheila - I made it to St. Augustine, but not until May because my son had to have back surgery, poor young lad. He's only 27. He's working in TX, so Dad flew to be with him. I so wanted to find your info to see if I couldn't hook up with you for lunch, but didn't even have a second to get online to look for anything. I was so disappointed too. The entire time I was there I kept thinking I could be walking right by your home. We stayed at The Peace and Plenty B&B on Cedar - beside the Historical section of town. We had a LOVELY time. Hope to return, and when we do; I'll definitely have your info with me. Praying all is well in your neck f the woods! ;) xoxo

I think about you so often and I am hoping you both are doing great! It seems life has a way of taking over and we need to make choices of what is most important at a certain times. Blogging has not been at the top of my list, even though the dear friendships I have made are. Just know you are in my thoughts often:) My mom is a blessing, a constant concern... and definitely a joy!:) We now have 14 grandchildren with our youngest granddaughter born in June. Life is so good.
Hugs sweet friend! Beth (Cheryl)

PS I tried to do an blog update recently and blogger has changed so much I think I need to take a course on how to get started again! LOL

It was SO GOOD to hear from you!! So glad that you are on the mend!
It seems that I just can't form a post anymore. It seems that when I have something to say, something takes me away from my computer before I can say it. It seems like every time I think to post something, something else has changed with the ins and outs of blogging, and I have to relearn how to load a picture, or- well, you get the idea, I am sure!

Anyway, thank you for letting me/us know that things are looking up for you.

Welcome back! I switched from google chrome to google + awhile back in order to be able to continue adding photos on blogger. It enabled me to continue without purchasing more photo space. I would look into it and see if anything you are experiencing is due to the connection that blogger seems to have with google. Google upgrades and blogger upgrades seem to coincide. Good luck figuring it all out, it's such a pain. Again, I love that you are back though and please let me know if you switch over to another platform. Have a great day!
