What a wonderful idea to take a day out of each week to give thanks for our blessings! This is my first time to post on Thankful Thursday (mainly because this is my first Thursday with a blog!), but I have a lot for which I'm thankful. The list is endless. So I'll start with a few things that come immediately to mind. Mr. Magpie, my DH, is grateful for these same blessings.
I am grateful that, for the last ten years, I've been able to walk out the door and see scenes like this...

But mostly, I'm grateful that the Lord has allowed me to live in a country where I am free to glorify Him...

To answer some questions some of you had, the photographs are of St. Augustine. It's a very unique place full of artists and eccentrics, tourists and honeymoooners, writers and rascals, priests and nuns, horses and cats, alligators and magpies... well, at least two magpies unless there are more in the bird sanctuary that's part of the oldest alligator farm in the US. Sound like a commercial? ;-)
I've had several questions about the pictures from people on and off the blog, so I'll answer here and hope everyone who is curious sees it. Maybe you guys will anyhow. As I mentioned on that first post, the two photos of the ocean were taken by Phillip and Leigh. They were so beautiful I just had to share. Mr. Magpie took the best ones on the other post -- the raintree and the sunrise scene. I spotted the latter on my way to an appointment, called him on my cell, and told him to grab the camera and hurry out to take it. There was one shot left in the camera, and he got it. If you click on it, you can see the light in the light house.
I took some that are passable if you don't look too closely. I think we both shot the ones on this post as well as the other, but he takes better pictures. We sort of aim the camera, pray we can keep our hand steady, shoot and pray they turn out. ;-)
Mr. Magpie is a lawyer by day, a trash picker for shiny objects by dawn and by night, and an amateur photographer when the spirit moves him. He's also a very, very good sport.
As to our weather right now -- it is chilly tonight, but I like it. It's refreshing. :-)
David, I believe this is your first time posting, and I wanted to take the opportunity to welcome you specially. So glad you dropped in and hope you'll come visit again. I plan on stopping by to visit your blog, too. I would visit tonight, but I have been struggling with trying to get some things loaded. That does not negate the fact that I really appreciate your visit, and I look forward to visiting your nest. :-)
