Today is another beautiful Outdoor Wednesday with my friend Susan of A Southern Daydreamer. This is the day that we all get together to share our views of the great outdoors. Only today I'm going to take liberties with my post and share a little tale that has to do with a big thank-you for a blog drawing I won from one of my first blogging friends, Jane Marie of Thyme For Herbs. So if you would suspend your disbelief for a moment and join me on my jaunt, I would be ever so pleased to have you accompany me on this Indoor/Outdoor Wednesday.

My tale starts with a wonderful package that I couldn't wait to open. For you see, inside the package were tiny little clay vegtables that traveled all the way from a very special clay vegetable patch in Michigan...

A basket filled to overflowing with carrots, another basket of Idaho potatoes, and two heads of cabbage arrived at Port Magpie's loading dock in perfect order...
I immediately rang for assistance, and the dock workers hopped right on it...
Hip, here, loaded up the cabbages and potatoes...
While Hop loaded up the carrots...
[Note: You can tell they are working in an industrial area with the power lines in the background. Mr. Magpie has remedied that situation with underground cable i.e. an extra battery for the camera!]
Then together...
The Bunnies of Bronze shouldered their loads and were off to deliver the bounty...
They traveled through the Bunny-on-a-Stick Meadow...
And followed one bunny who looked like he knew where he was hopping...
When they reached the second crossing, the Bunnies of Bronze parted company with Mr. Green Genes and headed on their way...
After wandering around in circles (as male bunnies often do), the Bunnies of Bronze stopped to get what passed for directions from a group of artists preparing for next Easter...
And within minutes, Hip and Hop miraculously found themselves in front of a very large, very yellow two-story house [with flower boxes on the second story windows and a fine white damask piazza in front]...
The rabbits screeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeched to a halt.
"This look like the place?" said Hip to Hop.
"Well, there's only one way to find out!" said Hop to Hip.
And with that, the rabbits approached the door...
"Hey, Mom!" shouted a voice from inside. "You won't believe who's outside!"
"Well if it's the vacumn cleaner salesman, tell him he can have the one back he sold me last year, the one that managed to suck down all the drapes and rip off my false eyelashes, but didn't pick up a single speck of dirt from the carpet!"
But that last command went unheeded as the doors were flung open wide to reveal a small boy and a woman inside...
[a woman who was clearly having a very-big, very-bad hair day]...

"This the Small residence? "said Hip to the boy.
Barely able to contain his excitement at the sight of the Bunnies of Bronze, the boy exclaimed, "Yes! Yes it is!"

"Well that figures, because you're definitely small," chuckled Hip.

"No, no, no," said the boy, "I'm not Definitely Small. That would be my uncle who lives across town. I'm Hesa Small, and my sister Shesa Small is upstairs in her room in timeout."
"What did she do?" asked Hip.

"A little of this and a lot of that," said Hesa. "But mainly, she accidentally tore up the staircase by sliding down the banister with a couple of bowling balls tied to her feet to make her go faster."
"Well, how do you like that, Hop?!" said Hip. "This sounds like your kinda place!"

"Oh," the boy continued excitedly, "and my mom... this is my mom Ima Small....got really, really mad and sent Shesa into permanent Timeout, permanent that is until Dad... his name is Youra Small... can figure out a way to fix things from the upstairs down. He's kinda trapped up there in his study. We have to send them food in a basket tied to a rope."
"Well, it looks like we got here just in the nick of time with the grub and the basket," declared Hop, "but we didn't know to bring rope!"

"That's okay," said Hesa. "Dad'll just use the sheets to make a rope. He's an Eagle Scout!"
And with that, Hop handed the basket of carrots to Hesa...
"Oh, boy! Mom loves carrots," said Hesa, "but mostly she likes them in carrot cake!" Then Hesa turned and looked in Hip's direction, and as he did he declared, "But what I really love is French fries."
"I think I can oblige," said Hip, "Or at least I've got the potatoes, but you have to turn them into fries!"

And with a grunt or two and a heave-ho, Hip put down his load of potatoes and cabbage at Hesa's feet...
And the Smalls thanked the Bunnies of Bronze who went merrily on their way to do whatever it is that Bunnies of Bronze do when they finish work. And Hesa? Well, Hesa had his French fries while Ima enjoyed a delicious slice of carrot cake. Youra got a big plate of his favorite Copper Penny Carrots for strength to tackle what was left of the staircase...
But Shesa was nowhere to be found...
A couple of tell-tale signs, like a lamp in the middle of the kitchen floor...
And a missing dessert...
Or two...
Or three...
Tell us all we need to know.
But who can really blame Shesa???
And you know what else?
My friend Cecelia and I will never tell.
The question is...

"Will YOU?" ;-)
Many thanks to Jane Marie for these wonderful veggies that have made their way into the Smalls' world and Cecelia's as well. She thanks you, they thank you, and I do, too...
If you'd like some of these adorable little veggies, please visit Jane Marie at her blog Thyme For Herbs. She has wonderful miniatures for doll houses in her etsy shop there.
And thank you, too, Susan, for always being such a gracious hostess on Outdoor Wednesday!
For more Outdoor Wednesday posts, please follow the bunny trail over to Susan's blog by clicking here. And lastly, thanks SO much for visiting me today. I look forward to visiting you at your blog in return. I hope you know that Cecelia and I think you're the very best! :-)
Warmly,
Mrs. Magpie (Sheila)

You are very creative...must be really fun to live with. :o)
Oh Sheila, what an adorable tale! I am so happy that my veggies have found such a wonderful home with the Smalls.
I think you need to put this book into print( with Cecelia's help, of course)
What a great grandma you are!
P.S. thanks for the Etsy plug.
I wish I could claim Cecelia as my grandchild, but she's actually my namesake... her middle name is the same as my middle name. But if I could pick a granddaughter, it would be Cecelia and her cousin Addie. Adelaide (their grandmother) and their mothers (Missy and Cece) are kind enough to share them with me! :-) And they share Clement as well whom I would pick for my grandson! Love them all to pieces!
XO,
Sheila :-)
Very sweet Sheila. I wonder how long this post took you to post. Oh and I want some of that yummy looking cake.

Things are looking up. Thanks for the help. I have ordered, but in the meantime, I'm taking some Omega 3 CALM and other natural ones. I find if I take them just before bed...I sleep better also. Every little bit helps and I thank you.

HAHA. Yay bunny on a stick! You told such a great story I just loved it. lol SO cute! I had an awesome doll house like that when I was little, wish I still had it! Cute miniatures. Have you ever tried making your own? I used to do it all the time with the clay from craft stores that you bake lol. Take care!

Allison
Well that was one epic tale along the bunny trail.

Afternoon, Dear One! Oh, I'm laughing at your not 'doing' haunts! I don't do 'em either if I can help it! I'd rather stay and play with this cute doll house and give the little Mommy a new 'do'! LOL
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
What a tale. I love the little bunnies. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today. I totally agree with you on the peonies they are my favorite as well. We have a ton of gold fish in the fish pond right now but the picture was so green you can't see them. Hope you have a blessed day!
How delightful. You gave me a much needed break.
My office will be in the den, at the front of the house.
Your blogs are always so entertaining. And I'll have a big slice of that chocolate cake!
Happy Outdoor Wednesday.
Sheila: I am wondering where in Florida you live, is it St. Augustine? I think I saw that somewhere on your blog and it truly is a small world! St. Augustine is one of my very FAVORITE places in the world. (Not that I have extensively travelled the continent or anything) but we went there every year all through my childhood! We stayed in Crescent Beach and every night went in to St. Augustine. Beautiful city, so historic and nostalgic! The architecture is so beautiful. Flagler College ~memories~
Lou Cinda :)
Sheila!
What a trip that was...my, oh, my! I can't imagine the time it takes you to weave such a tale, and pull it all together with pictures that depict what's going on. You make everything come to life! THANK YOU!
Shelia, I do not think you could be any cuter or any more clever. What a fabulous post! (Standing O). LOved this! I also love your blog! Thanks for sharing such a great post! Thanks for dropping by Bloggeritaville! I LOVE my friends!

Have a wonderful day!
(((HUGS)))
Donna
I missed OW. I've been sleeping too much these past two days. LOL
John power washed the house while I slept in the sunroom. Tomorrow I'm going to look at paint colors.
Hugs
You've outdone yourself, Sheila ... what a cute and imaginative tale. I don't know what I liked the best ... the bunnies, the little dollhouse, the Small Family, or the miniature vegetables. I DO know who's the cutest, though ... your precious little Cecelia wins hands down!
You are truly talented, my friend.
Another adorable tale, Mrs. Magpie. I do love dollhouses. Cecelia's is really special. The closing doors are a smart idea. Until last summer when I gave away my dollhouse (mine, as the girls never showed interest!), I spent too much time dusting, as the dolls were pigs. I did save the furniture and accessories. Today I decided to pack the entire lot, and broke part of it. I truly understand why the pros get big bucks for packing.
Sorry for the rude digression. Let's return to that cake!!!!
That is the cutest post EVER!!!
I know you had fun, you clever girl :)
that was an adorable tail/tale!
your header is gorgeous, what is that, never seen that in ca!
Bravo , what a great story Sheila.
LoL Sheila, you just don't ran out of good and clever stories to share. And I'm so glad for that. Another sure fire to brighten anyone's day.
Love the hints of "funnies" here and there like men not asking for directions are the Small Family Name :-) But, oh dear! The little one sliding on a banister would definitely frighten the Mama.
I am so amazed that aside from stories, you always have props and lots of little friends that do drop by and help you out :-)
What a great tale! Thanks for sharing.
Such fun, Sheila!! I just love your creativity!! It brightens my day, and delights my inner child!!
Thank you, sweetie!!
Have a blessed day, and know how very much joy you bring to my life, and that you are SO appreciated!!
Love and hugs,
Becky
Shela you are a-ma-zing my friend! I just love this story! The veggies are precious and Celia is beautiful as well.
thanks for coming by today. I always appreciate your sweet visits.
Have a blessed day.
~Melissa :)
Sheila, this was adorable. And, the mini veggies are perfection.
I'm so glad you shared your adventure with us.
I've missed you.
What a delightful tale, the pictures are charming! The little clay veggies are so cute. Wonderful post :)
Awww....What a wonderful story Shelia. Your little assistant is lovely. I hope you have a great day ♥
Cute bunnies. You blog is just lovely that I am given you an award at my blog http://craftfrommyheart.blogspot.com/
That dollhouse is just adorable! Thank you for entertaining me (as usual!) in such a fun way this afternoon :)
Sheila,
I am so glad you are back and I apologize for not getting to you sooner. I have been a very bad girl about my blogroll and I did not do OW. Anyway...
I so enjoyed this "tale"!! A good belly laugh at each and every turn. I think I could qualify as a stand~in for Ima, we share the same hairdo!! I thought the bunnies were real chocolate and kept wondering why they hadn't melted by the end of the story! LOL!!
Cecelia was your lovely model again and I gather this was her dollhouse. What I would have done to have a dollhouse like that when I was a little girl, living in my little fantasy world (still am)!!
I am going to have to read this again...I was scrolling so fast to see what was going to happen next!!
Enjoy the rest of the week Mrs. M!!
xoxo
Janie
:0) I very much enjoyed that post :0)
My dear sweet friend,
You tell superb and entertaining tales like no body else I know:-)
Cecelia is a very lucky little girl and all those you touch are so blessed by your many talents and amazing ability to love.
Thank You for all your love sent my way! We arrived home just this morning at 12:30 AM our time. After being in the East for two weeks for our son's graduation and helping him pack for their move to Colorado, it was wonderful to sleep in our own bed.
On the flight from Atlanta, I sat next to a lovely lady named Linda who was raised in the Lakeland area of Florida, now from Melbourne (sp) and told her I had a dear friend from the area. I just didn't know my dear friend's last name! LOL :-)
Just that her heart is amongst the best I know.
We are still running strong... Our newlywed kids are arriving later today for her brother's wedding tomorrow. They are so cute together now they can really start their life together. Our parents are both improved. My mom is no longer having to go the hospital every other day for debrideing for her 2nd and 3rd degree burns. She is healing well and sounds so young and so grateful for her blessings.
We are going to see my FIL this afternoon and access his needs when Mr B gets home today from work. He sounds so much stronger. We really thought we would lose him while we were gone.
Thanks again for being a wonderful friend.
Hi Sheila! I love your tale of the Small family! You are such a talented story teller! And Miss Cecelia is such a cutie pie! I hope you are having a wonderful week!...hugs...Debbie
Thank you all so much for your sweet comments! I've enjoyed reading each of them SO much and am glad you enjoyed this little tale that Cecelia and I concocted for you! I've also enjoyed visiting each of you, but some websites I'm having trouble accessing... but I will persist. Liz, yours was one that keeps closing on me, but if you come back and read this, please know I appreciate the award! :-)
Beth, I'm laughing at you telling a non blogger that you have a dear friend whose last name you don't know. LOL! And whiyle Melborne is quite a ways from St. Augustine, I know people pretty much all over the state. Wouldn't it be funny if we knew each other??? It's a small, small world (as Mickey says). ;-)
XO,
Sheila :-)
Thank you for stopping by my blog and the wonderful comments on my horses! This was so cute! I'll have to check the veggies out at Jane's! Have a great Friday!
Good morning Sheila, hooray! I'm on the computer at my sister-in-law's home. I adore your veggie tale 'so much.' Is that your doll house? I too have a doll house very much like the one in your post. It is in need of a makeover. My special aunt and uncle helped me build it from a kit.
Cecelia is so adorable. Her photos are full of personality.
Thank you for your sweet comment about my daughter. She is a blessing to her patients and us too.
Until next time...
BIG HUGS...Jeanne
I came over after I saw your comment on Charlie and Me's blog, but got caught up in your wonderful story. I am glad I am not the only one having trouble accessing blogs. I keep getting the Internet Explorer error messages on some blogs and then the close. Yesterday I was not able to visit Charlie and Me and today I was. Yesterday I was able to visit the Muse and today I am not. So it seems to keep changing who I am able to visit. Another one I am having troubles with is Coloradolady for the Vintage Thingies Thursday post. I had to go through moxialla Firefox to post my link. Then when I got home from work, I could visit her after all, but there was no longer a Mr Linky. Now today I can't visit her. What a mess. I am relieved that it seems to be a blogger problem and not a "me" problem. Hope it gets fixed soon.
HI Dearest Sheilaness! Thanks for coming to see me! I hope all is well with you!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia :)
Hi Sheila,
You are quite the story teller. Loved it! And love those bunnies and the little veggies.
Have a great weekend!
Hugs,
Donna
A rabbit tale for sure Sheila. Those veggies look like they've come straight from Mr.MacGregor's garden. What a fabulous doll house--I bet it can tell lots of stories of all the little people who have played with it over the years!
Hope you have a super weekend!
♥ HUGS ♥
Hi Shelia,
What a great tale. You should write a children's book and use your photos to illustrate. I bet you would get published very easily.
Love those bronze bunnies!
May you have a wonderful Memorial day weekend my friend...hugs and smiles Gl♥ria
Oh it has been much too long since I have been by...have we ever told you how wonderful you are???!!!! Your creativity is just amazing and your stories are so sweet and entertaining...LOVE you!!! :-)
Thank you all so much! You are so sweet, and I'm happy you've enjoyed my little story.
I'm having trouble accessing some of your blogs, so if I'm not commenting you know why. I'm going to be traveling tomorrow, so I will try to get by and visit folks tonight and tomorrow night!
Happy Sunday...
XO,
Sheila :-)
