Pink Saturday: Happy Birthday To The Pinkies!

Today is a very special day at my sweet friend Beverly's blog, How Sweet The Sound. It's the first birthday of Pink Saturday as a group event. So in honor of that, I invited a little pink friend of mine to help celebrate this momentous day!

Hi there, Pinky! I understand you have a special surprise planned for Beverly and her friends...



Would that sign behind your head have something to do with it?



Yes, that would be the one... the one I can't see very well...



If you wouldn't mind moving your head just a tad...



Now, lean forward just a smidge...



Bingo!



Well, I hate to disappoint there, fellow, but with the rain lately, I think you had better make some alternative plans like showing the folks something, shall we say...



Pink???

Now, don't give me that look, Pinky, I'm not talking about you. Just show the nice people the pinks in the fabric...




"Alright, here we have some teacup chintz that Mrs. Magpie has in her horde, I mean stock of fabric."




"Wow! Would you look at that little pink cup and saucer! Oh, aren't they sweet?"




"I believe I'm in love..."



Ahem, Pinky, no handling the merchandise! Moving right along...



"Yes, Mrs. Magpie. Sorry, Mrs. Magpie."





"Moving right along we have a pink and green QUILT from Nautica that Mrs. Magpie found on one of her shiny object sprees. It is composed of a variety of fabrics as any self-respecting quilt would be. The color's a little off in these pics. Shhhhh... don't tell, but she really doesn't know the first bloomin' thing about photography! I mean look how my feathers clash with the colors here!"




"Uh, Mrs. Magpie, what are you doing waaaaaaaaay up on that ladder with the camera? Careful, lady, you could drop that thing on my top knot!"





"Whew! You really know how to scare a guy, don't you?"





"And now that I survived that threat to my life, I'd like to share this Brunschwig & Fils fabric in linen that has traveled around Florida and back through several moves with the Magpies. I think it's an Ikat design, but we'd have to call in the big guns (aka Joni) to be sure. Personally, I like this shade of pink. One might even call it, 'flamingo pink,' though some wise guy would probably call it, 'watermelon,' instead."




"And here is a great shot of the wrinkles in the fabric. Good grief, Mrs. Magpie, you obviously don't know your way around an iron, now do you?! Oh, well, I guess I've seen worse..."





"Like the wrinkles on a Shar Pei's face, hehehe!"





"And moving right along again. Next we have a big striped...




"MISTAKE!"




"People, this is what happens when you choose the design team (and I use that term veeeeeeerrrrrrrry loosely) of Sponge Bob & Patrick over the experience and taste of Squidward Designs. This comforter is actually relegated to guarding the table leaves for the Magpie's dining room table, far, far away in a locked closet, where no one will EVER see and be blinded by it again!"

"But we can't end on that kind of a note, now can we? No-sir-ree! We are going to leave you with my personal favorite, polka dots, and these polka dot SHEETS are for visiting small magpielets and consist of two shades of pink plus green."



"Yep, they sort of remind me of bubbles (bet Claudie would like these!), and there should always be bubbles at a party! I believe I'll hop on the back of that big pink bubble there and hitch a ride to visit the other participants of Pink Saturday...
