Stella threw a party...
In the county jail...
The prison band was there and they began to wail...
The band was jumpin’ and the joint began to swing...
You should have heard those knocked out jailbirds sing...
Let’s Rock...
Everybody, let’s rock...
Everybody in the whole cell block...
Was dancin’ to the Jailhouse Rock!
Spider Murphy played the tenor saxophone...
Little Joe was blowin’ on the slide trombone...
The drummer from England...
Went crash-boom-bang...
The whole rhythm section was a Blogger gang...
Let’s Rock...

Everybody, let’s rock...
Everybody in the whole cell block...
Was dancin’...
To the Jailhouse Rock!
Number 47...

Said to Number 3...

“You’re the cutest jailbird I ever did see!
I sure would be delighted with your company...
Come on and do the Jailhouse Rock with me"…
Let’s Rock...
Everybody, let’s rock...
Everybody in the whole cell block...
Was dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock!
Sad Sack was sittin’ on a block of stone...
Way over in the corner weepin’ all alone...

The warden said, “Hey, Buddy, don’t you be no square…
If you can’t find a partner, use a wooden chair!”
Let’s Rock...
Everybody...
Let’s rock...
Everybody in the whole cell block...
Was dancin’ to the Jailhouse Rock!
Shifty Henry said to Stel, “For Heaven’s sake...

No one‘s lookn’, now’s the chance to make a break!”
Stella turned to Shifty and she said, “Nix. Nix...

I wanna stick around awhile and get my kicks!”

Let’s Rock...
Everybody...
Let’s rock...
Everybody in the whole cell block...
Was dancin’ to the Jailhouse Rock...
Dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock...
Dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock...
Dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock...
Dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock...
Dancin' to the Jailhouse... ROCK!
And that, folks, is a WRAP!
I hope you enjoyed Stella's community service project. This marks not only her ticket out of jail, but the grand finale of her time here in the United States. I hope you will join me in a salute to Stella, our very own "Little Miss Firecracker"...
And don't think I'm going to break out into a chorus of "You Light Up My Life" or anything...
I'm not that corny! ;-)
But I might break out into a round of "Thanks For The Memories"...
Because this little doll has not only traveled through several states...
But she has met and enjoyed the company of some wonderful bloggers...
And you can follow along on her past adventures on Linsday's blog HERE...
I've learned a lot from Stella, including the ability to ask friends and perfect strangers to pose with a seven inch cross stitch doll which they were always glad to do...
I've also learned that if you hold onto Stella just long enough, you can get her mother (Lindsay) to agree to the ransom by coming with her entire family on another trip to Florida next spring! And some of you just thought Stella was another shiny object for a magpie. I freely admit I'm a bit of pirate, but there is method to my madness in this case! ;-)
So it is with fondness, that the United States and the Land of Blog bid you a fond farewell, Stella, as you set sail home to England! Bon Voyage! We will miss you [but Mr. Magpie's wallet, as seen HERE, will not!] ;-)
Now, I'd like to thank my friends Lindsay of The Cross Stitch House and Lorrie of The View From My Door for allowing me to host Stella for an extended stay. Y'all are THE BEST!
Next, I'd like to thank my buddy Sally for hosting Blue Monday, and I would encourage everyone to visit Sally and all of her friends HERE to see more blueness this week.

Oh, and Sally, I thought since Stella was arrested for stepping on Elvis' blue suede shoe on a Blue Monday HERE, it's only fitting that she debut her community service gala on another Blue Monday. I hope that the blue stage backdrop [a.k.a air mattress] qualifies as my something blue this week. ;-)
If not, Stella is wearing blue buttons among other blueness...

Thanks for visiting me today, and I look forward to visiting you. You make my day complete!
Warmly,
Mrs. Magpie and Stella :-) :-)

You know what? I have the song in my head now...madness is contagious!
XO
This was wonderful Sheila! I can't get over how much fun hosting a seven inch cross stitch doll can be. Of course, I think it might have just a wee bit to do with her hostess :) I absolutely adored this post, one of my favorite songs ever. Thanks for the very big smile, and I hope that Stella has a safe trip home. I was going to say I wished for an uneventful trip home, but I doubt that will happen! Hugs, Kat
Oh, Sheilaness! You're fantastic! You have such an imagination! You're so much fun! In fact you're hilarious! I love it! I love it! and I love you and Stella and the whole jail house gang! You're too much!! :)

What a cute and funny post. You are so creative!!!
I bid a fond farewell to Stella. I haven't known her long, but I shall think of her fondly, for, after all, it was she who enabled me to reconnect with a former dear friend and prayer partner.
Blessings and hugs,
Patti
Oh Sheila! I SO wish I could stop and see you on my way home- I would give you a great big hug for all the smiles you give me!!
xoxo Pattie
A very cute post, Sheila. Reminds me, the movie I saw with friends, on my 13th birthday was Jailhouse Rock...Elvis' new movie!
LOL! That was really entertaining, Sheila. I love it and thoroughly enjoyed it. I love St. Augustine, it is so quaint. I was just thinking about you when I was hanging the mirror....Christine
Your hilarious and brilliant, creativity oozing from every pore. The last pic is my favorite--Stella at the beach.
Can only imagine what you might do with the "Good Flea's" cows Fred & Bessie. I had a bit of a hoot with them a long time ago. Isn't it great that ladies of our "age" can PLAY? I just love this.
Crazy crazy - and wonderful. You and Miss Stella certainly did a lot of work!!
Oh how cute this is! I can tell Stella has enjoyed her extended stay with you. Bon voyage Stella! I very much enjoyed your farewell production! laurie

HI Sheila
THANK YOU so much for giving Stella the most wonderful time with you in Florida over the past few months. I really enjoyed this amazing finale. I love how she got all the jail dancing, so funny. The fireworks finale was just perfect. It has been a great end to her travels and I know she will be sad to leave. Maybe she will sneek back with me next year after all she does have a passport!
Thanks again. All your posts have been amazing.
Lindsay

LOL! This had to be one of the most imaginative blog posts I've ever read! Stella certainly made the most of every situation she was in ...that is the way to live life!
Have a wonderful week, Sheila! Now I will be singing Jailhouse Rock to myself all day ...lol!
Wow! I never knew all the lyrics to Jailhouse Rock! :) Thanks Stella! Have a safe trip home.
Oh no, you didn't! I am giggling so hard right now that you made all of those jailhouse gingerdolls for this post!
I think the whole Stella Adventure is a pure delight!
And now, thanks to you, I'm going to be singing like Elvis all day.
Thank you... Thank you very much...
Debbie has left the building.
Sweet Mrs. Magpie/Sheila, First of all, you made me fall in love all over again with Elvis in an entirely new Light! And, thus, my heart has now been stricken to fall in love with Ms. Stella! How precious is she, and her journey to your place was a bit of an experience, I'm sure! Yet, her she is, she got her man! What every woman wants to leave with, right? Praying your family is doing well, ours is blessed! Our new little grandbaby boy is two weeks in the morning...can't believe where we were last year at this time! GOD ROCKS with blessings, I'm tellin ya! You take care...and thanks for the PRECIOUS Jail House Rock rendition, it's the best! ~CC Catherine
these are superb!
And my husband wonders why I missed blogging so much? Where else can one be so easily entertained! You are slightly nuts, but I love it!
My favorite is on the beach-
sandy toe
Sheila - your post is brilliant! I can see that Stella has had a wonderful education on America while she was staying with you.... love that part about how she tried to get into Mr. M's wallet! :)
LOVE IT!! Now I'll be humming "Jail House Rock" for days. That's o.k. since I like it.
Best,
Bonnie
Oh Sheila, this made me laugh aloud. I guess the three of us were thinking Elvis today.
This is adorable.
Sheila-I am pretty sure Elvis's only complaint would be that Stella did not make it to Graceland. Oh--we could have had such fun and then ribs at the Rondevous! I will miss the flighty and mischievous Miss Stella. LOVE the beach picture!!
STAND BACK...LET ME THROUGH...EXCUSE ME...OUTA MY WAY.....
ELVIS !! ELLLLVISSSSSS....I KNOW you are here...I hear ya singin'...
I missed ya over at BEVERLY'S...you are wearin' me out!!
OOO, wait a minute! Did you say Stella is going home? bwaaaaaaa I wanted to see a lot more of her..Well, she'll always remember her romp in the jailhouse, I'm sure.
You are sooooooo NUTZ !!
AND soooooo F.U.N.
I am sure I wrote a message before but don't see it, so......if you get two, thrown one away!!
OMG!!!!!!!! Sheila, you just crack me up girl! I am so happy to see that Stella is finally out of jail and on her way home, but I will miss these posts. You are so creative, so unique, so funny and I am proud to call you my friend.
Bon Voyage, Stella, until we meet again.
btw, now you just know that song is going to be stuck in my head for the rest of the week!
OMG!!! Sheila you are way fun!!! I adore this. So some girls do like prison-types? She is shameless!
I would love to host Stella sometime. This made my day thanks Sheila for the smiles!
love, kelee
Elvis would be proud to see how Stella's time in the pokey got things all shook up! Your big imagination must work overtime, Mrs. Magpie. No doubt Stella will continue to have a good life as she makes her trip back across the pond, but it's hard to imagine it will be as action-packed as the visit she made to your house! Xo, Sue
Such a cute post, but it's a little sad to know Stella is leaving. Hope she has a safe and happy trip. We'll all miss her.
I've always been a fan of The King, so I really enjoyed her presentation of Jailhouse Rock! And those are adorable jailbirds.
Happy Monday from Joy @ Joysweb
How cute is that! Thanks for stopping by my blog and asking about my husband. It's slow, but he is improving...
Hi Sheila--what a wild and crazy post! I'm delighted that Stella did such a wonderful community service project--a grand finale to her extended US tour. I'm so happy that her final stop was with you in Florida. She had a wonderful time and you told the tales of her adventures so well! I'm sure that we'll get to see a photo of her once she's back in England with Lindsay. I remember so vividly the cold December day that she arrived in my mailbox in North Carolina. She's had a great run!
Stella is back, she's so cute visiting those prisoners... Happy Blue Monday!
Does Stella know the Beach boys song, "get around, get around, I get around"? She's a girl on the move!
Well what a fabulous hostess you are! I'm glad Stella had a wonderful time here and is headed home safe and sound. Now I'm singing Jailhouse Rock!!
Have a wonderful week Sheila!!
What a hoot that was. That songs reminds me of seeing Elvis do that one TV. You have such a creative style. Love your post.
Where do I begin, Sheila? I am really going to miss the antics of you and Stella. I think if she could tell us, she would say that she has had the best time with YOU!!
And I know what she means!!
You are such a joy and delight, not to mention full of knowledge and so very gracious and hospitable.
I say now to you and Stella, thanks for the memories!
I am soooo glad I stumbled onto your blog 1-2 years ago!!
Love you gal! Oh and I am doing all right. Haven't seen the Dr. yet, but have an appt. My issue is feeling a little better but not good enough to cancel the appt. There is a possibility that I may be coming up there with Maddy soon. I'll be in touch. Would love a little time with you!!
Big hugs,
Becky
What a marvelous post. Thank you for the smiles and good feelings you've left me with. I hope you had a fantastic Blue Monday. Blessings...Mary
You are one crazy woman that enjoys life and making others enjoy it too. I would never have put all this together. I wish I had just a small portion of your mind.
Sheila,
This is one of the cutest blogs - what a lot of work you did on it - and what a great idea.
Well I think Stella had a great time and you were a perfect host.
This was so cute and I loved it.
Love,
sandie
That was fun and creative!
Oh Shiela Sweetie...
You and Stella have given us a beautiful presentation. I love Jailhouse Rock. This is just stinkin darn cute. I thank you so much for sharing. What a wonderful job you did with the prisoners and all of Stellas embellishments. I have had so much time dancing today. Thank you sweetie for inviting me over. What a great time I had this evening.
Great community service Stella.
Many hugs to you my sweet friend. Thank you for dancing with me tonight. I will see you soon. I have another cute post coming, I am waiting on a delivery, and then I can let lose sometime this week.
Love you girl. Many hugs and so much love...Sherry

I LOVE it!!!! Goodbye Stella!!! You have done the most fabulous posts with Stella.
LOL....the coons haven't kidnapped me. I was a little under the weather for a few days and then busy, but I do have a small post set up for tomorrow. Thanks for checking on me Sheila!!!♥
What a fun post, Shiela ! Stella is such a cutie. I enjoyed this post so much. You are so good.Great photos too.
Happy Blue Monday.
What a fun post this was! Stella is a living doll, and now I want to check out her other adventures. You want to know something funny? I've been getting alot of the lyrics to Jailhouse Rock wrong all these years!
What a cute and creative post, Sheila... Loved it... I'm sure that Stella had a wonderful time with Mr. and Mrs. Magpie... I'm sure that both you and she were crying when she hopped on her BOAT to England...
Happy Blue Monday... I'm sure you are BLUE today--just missing Miss Stella and all of the Jailhouse boys, including the King.
Hugs,
Betsy
So, she's the girly equivalent to the traveling Gnome. Made me smile throughout -you must have had a lot of fun.
I especially liked the Sleep/Awake sign. We just purchased one for my daughter who spends most of the time with Asleep position on her doorknob!
Kathy
this is a very funny and a brilliant post thanks for the comment you left in my entry
oh no I just made a long comment and I believe it was lost. I will see and try again.
ugh! It was lost! man!
Well, I will try again. I wanted to know if you stole that song or was it of your own creation? I guess it would be an appropriate thing to steal while you are in prison, lol. I loved the song and I felt like I was right there with you, Stella!
Sheila, you will have to replace Stella with a monkey or something--you need someone to go along with you on your escapades! Stella, don't take offense at this...I am not saying YOU could be REPLACED, but Sheila will need someone to help her out when you leave. Stella, I hope your trip home will be grand and without anything terrible happening to you.
Sheila, as far as your question, YES, I am Episcopalian. We joined the Episcopal church about 4 years ago. Before this time I had been Congragationalist (my New England roots...did you know Jonathan Edwards was congragationalist ...the J. Edwards that took part in the great revival in the 1700's?). However during that time I didn't know the Lord. I was seeking to find out about God during this time. Then I was Baptist, Reformed Baptist, Reformed Presbyterian, Pca and then last, but NOT least, Episcopalian. We had always considered the Episcopal church liberal and had not thought of even visiting it. However, one day when we were on vacation in Charleston we went to an Epsicopal church and we were so richly blessed with the Godward focus of the service. At a later date, when we felt we needed to be part of a more local church than the PCA church we were part of, we visited an Episcopal church here a few blocks from our home. We loved it. The priest has a deep love for God and people. The church really serves the community in so many ways, it is amazing. I love the Episcopal church service. I love the traditions and symbolism--quite powerful in their uniting us with the believers that have gone on before us and with rejoicing in all that God has done for us in Christ. I better stop here and I hope I don't loose this comment again. God Bless! SISTER (in more ways than one ;-)
LOL!!! You, Stella and the jailmates put a smile on my face this morning. Safe journey Stella!
Licks & Wags ♥ Niki

Hi Sheila,
What an imaginative, clever, FUN post! It was all I could do not to get up and dance! I was singing along, but some of the lyrics seemed ever-so-slightly unfamiliar! ;)
Thank you for taking us along! Adieu, Stella, and bon voyage!
Sniff. Sniff.
This was really just a horribly sad post.
I am sorry for you upcoming loss.
Sniff.
And perhaps I should have warned you I have absolutely no rhythm whatsoever.
Sniff.

You have outdone yourself, Sheila -- what a wonderful send-off for Stella. Elvis couldn't have done it better himself!
You made me laugh and smile. I will miss your interaction with Stella. Sad to see her return home after so many fun posts.

:)
it's been nice traveling around with you little stella. have a great trip!
Well, Godspeed to Stella -- I am sure she will never have another wonderful hostess such as you!
Best,
Gloria
LOL!!!!!! That Stella! She gets around! The jail? With a band??? She may be heading home in the nick of time!
Loved it!
Lou Cinda :)
Another Wow! And like others said on their comments....the tune was running through my head as I read it. Well, I don't know if it was the correct tune...I may have made up my own since I don't really know the tune. Being hearing impaired, I tend to be out of the loop on how songs go. Stella has had quite the time over here in the US of A! Wonderful that she ended her time here with you and all the fun she had with you!!
