Christmas Whimsy on Blue Monday...

Good Morning, it's another lovely Blue Monday at my dear friend Smiling Sally's blog, and I want to first thank Sally for hosting us again! Then, I'd like to show you some of the whimsical blue Christmas ornaments and other items I spotted out shopping today. It all started when something shiny caught my eye...

And I spotted this window display...

Yes, that would be a blue sock monkey in a banana car! You know I'm just a tad fixated on sock monkeys. ;-)

And that would be a lava rocket lamp next to him...

So I popped in here to check out their blues...

And spotted a monkey with a blue pom-pom on his hat...

And a sign with a blue base...

Then there was a Christmas tree full of all sorts of shiny objects...

Like this little blue robot who looks like he could be a refugee from "Lost in Space." Can't you just hear the conversation when this little blue guy barks out the command to...

This other little blue guy: Take me to your leader...

No response. This does not compute...

I repeat. Take me to your leader...

Again, no response as Robby the Robot becomes fed up...

If you continue to refuse, I will have no choice but to pull out my ray gun...

And vaporize you...

Looks kind of scared, doesn't he? But Mr. Canary, sporting his jaunty blue and green striped hat, doesn't look worried...

Nor does Mr. Bluebird...

But if they talked to this sock monkey...

Or this blue one, who have both been made into gift bags, the birds might think differently. ;-)

There were other baubles with touches of blue on this tree...

While there were friends from the sea on another tree...

Along with pretty blue baubles...

But I just couldn't leave the store without showing you this apron...

With its blue ruffle and matching blue pockets...

And LOOK! Here's Suzy Homemaker herself all decked out in her blue dress...

Sounds like Suzy and I have a little something in common... ;-)

And just in case you didn't get a chuckle from Suzy and the cute little hanger with the blue hat upon which her apron is displayed...

Maybe, you'll get a chuckle out of this. We popped into Cracker Barrel on the way home the other night, and I simply couldn't resist this ornament...

Thus my question to you follows: "Do YOU believe in Santa???" ;-)

Now, please pop over and visit Sally and all of her friends at her blog for more blue posts today by clicking here . Thanks for visiting me, and I look forward to visiting you, too. Wishing everyone a very Happy Blue Monday!

Warmly,

Mrs. Magpie (Sheila)

Hi Sheila, the gators won 37/10. It was a wonderful game and we had a great time. Being there was the best.
We left this morning at 9:00 am and arrived home at 9:30pm. The Thanksgiving traffic was awful. This is usually a 8-9 hour drive. anyway we are home safe.

Cheri sure got tired of being still for so long. Right now she is running around like a crazy dog. I hope she wears out soon.

I adore your post for blue Monday. the ornaments are so such fun. I have a miniature sock monkey for my doll house. I love them. The colors on the sock monkey in your photos is different and cute as can be.
I would never say I don't believe in Santa. Santa Claus is the spirit of Christmas.

As I was writing this comment CC just dropped like a rock and fell asleep. Yay, now I can go to bed. HA!

Love you xoxo, Jeanne

Thanks for your visit. I go to a Lutheran church although I think I told you that already. LOL. Did I? Anyway, the litiguries are similiar in the Episcopal and Lutheran churchs. I am glad I went yesterday. I had to work on Saturday and sometimes when that happens I just want to stay home on Sunday. But happy I went anyway. After all, I stopped at Hancock's afterwards and go more patterns. Heehee.

Hi Sheila! I love your blue post. I really do believe in Santa! In Norway we keep the gifts under the tree until Christmas Eve and open them after dinner. Every year "our" Santa drops by, even there are no children in the house :o) I think I have been a good girl this year and hope he will come and visit this year too!

LOVE the robot baubles - those are mega fun!

RE the underwear thing: I take it you are talking cheesy cheap nylon with fake fur attached... or sensible Big Girl Panties with reinforced stomach panel, that come right up to the waist and in Surgical Pink? Passion killers either way, and just ASKING for a return gift like a bottle brush or set of darning needles. Hah!

Shelia~ There was nothing *Blue* in all this charming holiday cheer.
My F-A-V-O-R-I-T-E..... the ornament featured on your banner! I want a tee shirt with that quote and the apron one as well. I have to have that apron, even if I need to ask Santa to find me one!!
Did I tell you about the story....when I was a little girl and my parents put (loose) hard candy with underwear in my stocking and the hard candy got so sticky it adhere to all the new undies! When I pulled them out of my stocking, I didn't know if I was more disappointed by getting the undies or the fact all my Christmas candy was stuck to them!

Sweet Holiday Wishes,
Sara

I missed you also dear Sheila and I'm so glad to finally be back.

I had to come and check out the underwear and honey, that ornament is wet-my-pants funny! I swear, I do believe, no underwear please.

I love the idea behind your grandmother's Santa Claus Box and think it would be a perfect gift any year, but this year especially.

Christmas in Williamsburg sounds wonderful, but you're right, it would be cold. I think I'll just look at all the pretty pictures and then take a walk on the beach.

Much love and a BIG hug to you dear one.
