Trash to Treasure Tuesday: Picture This...

Good Morning! Today is Trash to Treasure Tuesday with Treasure Hunter Diane at her blog, A Picture is Worth a 1,000 Words! Today is the day when Diane and her friends gather and share the treasures they have found and put to good use. And today, I decided to take a hint from Diane's blog's title for my post.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I have a lot of pictures. I also like to find pictures to match frames and frames to match pictures. When we decided to put our St. Augustine property on the market, I had previously had it decorated in a fun, whimsical way since it was an escape, but we decided to alter that to make it appear that it was something more than Mickey's House at Disney. ;-) In the process, I removed a lot of picture frames and personal objects. Some of these frames were really fun with the bright colors of the accessories that once reigned supreme in said house. Now, I'm looking for spots to relocate the frames.


When I was out shopping, I would look for things that had a Florida feel to them and about which the price was right. I found this first frame at Marshall's and liked it because it reminds me of the shutters you see on Florida homes from St. Augustine to Key West. [I'm sorry, but try as I may, the color seems off in this picture. So please use your creative imaginations and imagine this frame being a deep shade of peachy pink with some distressing]...



The little shutters open out...



Revealing my friend Kathy and her son Stephen inside. They had come to visit us in St. Augustine for her son's school's Florida History Week with his fourth grade class. Stephen is now a senior in high school and is about six foot two...



Then there are frames that just have the colors of Florida like this one found at Marshall's. Add the Christmas card snapshot of my friend Julie's cute fur babies, and you have a fun scene that keeps you smiling...



Aren't they snazzy in their tropical shirts and cool sunglasses, just chilling by the pool...



And people love to see their kids and dogs being appreciated at someone else's house, even though Kathy and Stephen have retired for the evening in this shot as evidenced by the fact that they've closed their shutters ;-)...



Then there are the two-fers, like this frame (found on sale at either Marshall's or TJ Maxx) that resembles the picket fence around our house and others found around town...



The child on the right (whose name I cannot spell lest I slaughter it, but who was the happiest baby I've ever met! What a cutie pie!) belongs to someone we rented a beach cottage from years ago, and the ones on the left are my friends: Addie, Cecelia, and Alex Ann. Those lady bugs were very busy posing for me...



And speaking of which, I'll leave you with this little ladybug friend I found at Marshall's one spring. I thought this might give us hope for warmer days to come...
