Yep, that one! Notice how this little blue plate was empty when I logged onto my blog last month. Note, too, how it is a salad plate because true to my New Years Resolutions, I was going to try and eat smaller portions. It's a psychological game, true, but supposedly it works for the French. I asked my hair stylist (who happens to be French), and she said it does.
After putting it to the test, however, I have decided that what's sauce for the French is not necessarily sauce for the American. It seems that after reading several of your blogs (and the following were by no means all), I found that little blue plate filling itself over and over again. Temptation, thy name is____ And if you recognize your blog, you fill in the blank because this means you! ;-) In the mean time, let's go through a typical day in Bloglandia...
Nice looking blue on that blog. And, YUM, look at those nachos! I believe I'm hungry. Let's see, I have some spinach/feta/pastry thingies in the freezer. Maybe I'll just pop some in the oven for a treat...
Seven of them make a nice presentation on a salad plate, don't they? Even Darlene's Valentine bird approves. And they're looking pretty tasty, but they have to cool a bit. So let's see what's going on over here...
Oh, look! Dot's cooking something delicious and even serving it on blue plates! My mouth is starting to water...
Danger, Will Robinson, DANGER...
Well, one little plate can't be all THAT many calories, now can it??? Moving right along over to this cute blue blog...
A few eggs never hurt anyone except maybe the chicken who laid them. Right, Jemm?...
And yes, I know my fork belongs up there above my omelet, but I wasn't finished with it, yet (and I'm claiming photographic liberty as it looks cuter where it is in the shot). Oh, and check out Tara's cookies with their blue background...
Look how nicely my frozen mini cheesecakes compliment those cookies. Boy they look good, and so does Terrie's cake on this next one with that snazzy daisy on the sidebar and its blue background...
Wait, hold the phone! Where did those cheesecakes go??? Well, after all, they were rather smallish and since there were only three, maybe I'll just help myself to some more. In the mean time, let's check out the blue lady on Judi's sidebar...
Forget the blue lady, and check out that chocolate cake! Something like that should be illegal! Be still my beating magpie heart! Talk about shiny objects! Better head home for a bit, just to resist temptation...
Well, they would have melted on my keyboard if I'd waited! ;-)
I'll just remove that plate and go visiting without it. I believe I'll go over here and visit my friend Laura. She loves to laugh...
hehehehe... the title reads, "The Spastic Baker"...this is a hoot...
Okay, they crumbled a little, but they still look pretty tasty. I'd be happy to volunteer to eat every last one and the organic sorbet, too, Laura...
Looks like she pulls it out, though, WOW! Better keep moving, lest I be sorely tempted. Let's see what Pat is up to over here...
Same thing Laura was doing, a baking challenge. Let's see what happens here...
Oh, she's killing me here with that chocolate and that nifty dish with the pop of blue...
And look she left one little "shiny" tuile and a whole bowl of chocolate just for me. Gee thanks, Pat...
While I love your blue and white cup and saucer, I better not join you for that cuppa lest I fall prey to the lurking chocolate. Thanks anyway, Pat. I'll just mosey on over to here to visit Rachael's blue blog. Oh, look at that cute blue bundt pan...
But better yet, look what's IN and came OUT OF that cute blue bundt pan....
And look at that...
And...uh...uh...
Oops! Well, if you notice in that picture of the piece of cake, there's a mighty shiny spot right on it, and a magpie can only resist shiny objects just so long! And can anyone really blame me for not being able to resist that blue label that spells Ghiradelli's??? I think not. ;-)
Thanks for visiting me today! For more Blue Monday posts, please visit the participants at our gracious hostess Smiling Sally's blog by going here. They have lots of blueness to share with you today! :-)

Oh Sheila...you are so funny... I was laughing out loud by the time I finished reading your post...and i woke up my husband (don't worry he went back to sleep)
I have tried the salad plate too...but you CAN get just as many calories on it as many PLATTERS!!!
LOL
Have a great day!
Susan
Oh you are a riot!!!! I think you worked off any calories from eating these delectables by all the effort you had to use in typing up each entry, taking the pictures, etc...between each photo and story I think you have cancelled out any extra calories from your plate! :-) Have a great week! With love from Colorado, Denise :-)
I agree with Denise. All that work to do the post, definitely cancelled out all the calories. So nothing to worry about right?
Loved this post. It made me hungry. Now I have to go get something. Hmmm...I will probably just have a boring bowl of cereal.
Happy Blue Monday!
What a witty post filled with blue references throughout the tale of dieting woes.
Oh my goodness...all this food is making me very hungry at 5:15am!

Sheila this is too funny--very witty, and also very true. We have some wonderful inspiration for good eating in blogland which can make me run and raid my cupboards so I can munch while I visit my bloggy friends.
Thanks for a good laugh to start the week. I hope you have the nicest of Blue Mondays!
Sheila, you never fail to entertain and inspire us with your delightful -- and eloquent -- way with words.
This cute post was no exception.
Hope your "Blue Monday" is filled with sunshine!

Janie

Sherrie
Shame on you for posting all that food! I am on a diet, just ate breakfast...and I'm starving! How can one little pretty salad plate be so tempting?
This cracked me up! You are just too much fun!
And that is why I do not cook or go to blogs that seem to want to make me cook LOL
You said it Sheila.
Happy Blue Monday and BTW we have also started using smaller plates. It's been years now and it seems to work. I just won't let R.J. fill it up 3 times.
Love Claudie

All I can say is yum! I take my coffee with French Vanilla Creamora, thanks.

Thanks for stopping by my place while I was away. I'm back now and trying to play catch-up.

Well at least I can say no diet resolutions were harmed in the making of my blog.
That's something, right?
LOL! I don't know how many wonderful recipes I have printed out from fellow bloggers. So far I have had the will power to not make them yet...Both my hudband and I are really trying to be healthier......

What a great idea for Blue Monday!
Thanks for stopping by to visit my Blue MOnday.
Deb
Oh, Sheila too funny. And you just had to post all those photos of food didn't ya? I didn't have lunch and it's too early for dinner. Love the blue plates.
This was so funny and so great for Blue Monday. Fortunately, I can't cook at all, so there's no danger of ever finding recipes on my blog. But I do love to eat, of course, and those mini cheesecakes are driving me insane!
Thanks for this funny and clever post. Now I have seen all that gorgeous food I feel very tempted to go eat something. Unfortunately there's never much left to eat here on Monday evenings as my shopping day is Tuesday!
I enjoyed your blue Monday.
Lindsay
That's great! Thanks for the mention:) Clever photos too.
Sheila you crack me up...and you make me hungry! How dare you! :)
Wishing you a WONDERFUL week!!
Jen
Ms.Sheila, you're so funny...It is funny how much food & recipes we post! lol ;)
I loved this, & that sweet thought for the day - just precious. Hope you have a wonderful evening!
LOL! This was really fun to read and see, Sheila! All those wonderful temptations from so many bloggers -- thanks for including my January Daring Baker assignment tuiles! My coffee cup does match your blue willow salad plate, only I think of that size dish only as a dessert plate ..tee hee!
Now I have to visit those blogs and find all those great recipes!
Hugs, Pat
Happy Blue Monday! I am going to try the little plate thing.
You little toot! You made me laugh so hard several times today!!! I could only get down so far on your small plate adventure...gaining weight as I went I must add ...and my computer would freeze... So in between LOTS of errands I kept trying and finally waddled to the end.
You are So darn funny.
The cheese cakes are yummy and so easy to pop in our mouths. I had TOO many left over from our wedding showers! :-)
Well it was one of the most clever and funniest posts ever!
And most fattening!
Thanks for making me day..errrr night!!! ♥♥♥
Hi, Ladies! I'm so glad you all enjoyed this post, and I've been thoroughly enjoying all of your fun comments! LOL!
And to the great cooks of the internet: I will continue to lust over your cakes and cookies and chocolate and eggs and meals and hope I can through osmosis learn to cook like all of YOU! :-) In the mean time, I will live vicariously through your posts and cheer your creations from the sidelines!
Sending love to all of you and many thanks for your visit...

Dearest Sweet Toot!
I wasn't able to make the round of the neighborhood today so I came back to read Billy's precious quote. So sweet and true. Now... with humility, I thought I would soften it a bit!
:-)
You truly are a dear!
Did Rachael post her recipe for her bundt cake?

Hi, Ladies! So glad you dropped by tonight and glad you got a chuckle! Thanks for all your sweet comments! :-)
Susan, glad you enjoyed it! :-)
Sue, definitely hunger pains, and chocolate can cure them! ;-)
Robyn, I got these from a friend, and they are dyn-o-mite good! ;-)
Kim (aka Mrs. Mermaid aka Penny), yes that counts! Restraint is restraint even if for only 2.5 seconds! lol! ;-)
Shelia, don't worry, I did! Every single bite! LOL! :-)
Charlotte, I think of these things when I sit there daydreaming of chocolate bundt cakes and bowls of molten chocolate... they speak to me! ;-)
Kathy, LOL! I'm glad to know I'm in good company! ;-)
Shirl, it was my pleasure! :-)
Beth, you sweet one! You need to check out Rachael's new blog and email her for the recipe. She just closed her other blog and started a new one. I'm hoping she will post that again. Her new blog is Mom Cooks and Read Books.
Dot, LOL! Listen, you may not need that girdle, honey, but this little marshmallow does after that eating frenzy! LOL! In truth, it wasn't all in one sitting, but I did eat those items and LOVED every single bite... a little too much! LOL!
Goodnight, Ladies, I'm going to leave you now...
XO,
Sheila :-)
Shelia, What a creative post. It's just too cute. All of that food makes me feel like I've gained 10 pounds. Something I certainly don't need to do. Thanks for including me. You are so.. sweet.
Hugs, Terrie
I won't be around for awhile. We're going to AZ.
Sheila,
I was going to aplogize for being so late to respond to your BM post, however...
I won't repeat what the other ladies have already said, I'm just going to mosey off to my bag of sugar free miniature Hershey bars... and eat ALL of them!!
Thanks for the most "delicious" Blue Monday treat, your hard work doing it gave a lot of gal's a good laugh, including this one!
xoxo
Jane
Terrie, I hope you have a great trip! I'm glad you liked the shout-out. ;-)
Janie, glad you got a chuckle, now fork over those Hersheys! LOL! ;-)
Thanks for the visits, ladies. Loved visiting with you!
XO,
Sheila :-)
Hi Sheila
Thanks so much for highlighting my cookie recipe--this post was so funny! Loved it!
Tara
Well, it's Blue Almost Thursday for me... and this CRACKED ME UP! Thanks for featuring my humble attempts at pulling off that tuile challenge. I'm quite good at making things look better than they actually are. My tuiles very *nasty*, lol. But the raspberry syrup I whipped up was awesome (and, hello -- a bag of frozen raspberries and a scant tablespoon of sugar heated, then thrown in a blender. You'll look like a rock star when you serve that over a fancy store bought ice cream).
And...that little blue plate is FABULOUS! Love, love, LOVE it. Even more with mini cheesecakes on it!
xo,
Laura...who is still clutching her purse to her bosom. ;-)
Good Morning, Tara and Laura! I'm so glad you girls enjoyed the kitchen tour through Bloglandia and being included in the tour yourselves! :-)
Laura, if they didn't taste good, honey, you sure covered for it! LOL! And it's a good thing you're clutching that purse because otherwise a certain magpie might abscond with it for her nest. ;-)
Sending love and good wishes to both of you!
XO,
Sheila :-)
