Trash to Treasure & Tablescape Tuesday!

Good Morning! Today is that fun Tuesday morning festivity over at Diane's blog, A Picture is Worth a 1,000 Words, with her Trash to Treasure Tuesday! Actually, I'm not participating, but Annie is. She talked me into letting her show her very own version of Trash to Treasure. So today is Annie's show!


AND Annie has taken things one step further and talked me into letting her submit her tablescape to Tablescape Tuesday at Susan's blog Between Naps on The Porch. I've never even submitted one of my tablescapes, but Annie was so excited over her Thanksgiving table that's she's been nagging me for weeks to show it. So I acquiesced. I hope the lovely ladies on this blog tour will indulge Annie in her burning desire to show both her treasure-hunting and tablescaping abilities. ;-)



For those of you who know and for those of you who don't, Annie came to live with us after I won her in a blog drawing, and she has slowly taken over our house! The photo is Annie and her dog, Fella! He is actually a Trash to Treasure bonus that was sent to me with a children's book I bought on eBay. As you can tell, Annie thinks Fella is pretty special and vice versa!



On Thanksgiving, Annie had dinner with Fella and a few of her new friends...



And she couldn't decide which china to use. There was the white with gold trim that she found in the back of a cabinet and thought might look smart with her choice of napkin rings. She'd been reading the Nester's blog and added a Trash to Treasure tassel trim as a napkin ring to give it that extra umph! [The Nester would be proud, don't you think???] Annie also likes to mix the silver patterns in her place settings. She said that Joanne Woodward did that in a magazine article and that she wanted to try it herself! ;-)



But then Annie crawled around in the attic until she found this Imari look-alike china from a doll collection, and she decided this was perfect for her Thanksgiving table! Note that Annie added another Trash to Treasure find in the napkin ring she used here. It's actually a broken coral necklace she salvaged to use with her linen napkin. Annie thought the coral would work well for a fall table with the the coral color in the [faux]Imari! And she finished it off with an antique horn cup she felt would be a nice complement for the look she wanted to achieve here. Mr. Magpie was talking to me so I forgot to add the fall arrangement she did for the table. Annie hasn't let me forget it, either!



And that meal? Well, Annie whipped that up herself in no time flat! Her aunts (Helen and Dot) made sure she knew how to cook before they sent her packing to me. Oh, if only she were big enough to handle a twenty-pound turkey, then I'd be set for Christmas! ;-)
