A Green Three or More 2nd Time Around Pillow Parade Kind of St. Patrick's Day Post!

On Friday last,

You might have seen,

A tale involving

Lots of green.

It told of orbs,

It told of treats,

It told of prints

From...



Green...



Shod...



Feet...



But then today,

A big surprise

Was set before

Me sleepy eyes,

For when I gazed

Upon my plate,

Me food 'twas in

A greenish state!

But...

I do not like green eggs and ham,



I do not like them, Tam-I-Am![Note: a wee green version not to be confused with our dear Tam]



I'm sorry if ye think me rude,

I'm just not wantin' greenish food!

But I'll take a spot of greenish tea,

And wish St. Paddy's best to thee!

So, to fair Kathleen and all her friends,

I wish the following toast again:

Erin go East,

And Erin go West,

But Erin go Braugh

Is the one we love best! :-)

As to pillows (for Pillow Parade or Kari and Kijsa's event), I have several I'd like to share with you today: three needlepoint ones and three whimsical ones (Three or More for Tam's event). This first one, though oriental in flavor, is green to go along with our theme. It is also a thrifted (2nd Time Around to go with Diane's event) find, and was a great price for petit point. When I think of all the work that went into this, I can't believe that someone wouldn't want it... but I did and was glad to get it for around $10. I just checked the color on my monitor, and it is definitely off. I was chasing the sun to get a good indoor shot, but you get the general idea...

This next pillow with its green leaves features magnolias (Irish, of course) from the Williamsburg Collection and was a gift from Mr. Magpie's dear sister. Sister Magpie does some pretty mean needlework herself...



And this pillow was purchased from one of my favorite Florida stores, Jacobsen's, which is sadly no longer in business. It was hands down the best store in Floria for clothes and interior accessories. These are three little dogs dressed in Victorian garb. The one in the center even has on his St. Patrick's Day green. Must be an Irish Terrier...



And a closeup. Note that the other two dogs want to pinch the middle fellow soooooo badly, but he's wearing his green so they can't...



The next group of pillows are part of some whimsical accessories that I had purchased for our retreat and have since moved to other quarters that I'm about to decorate. The little duck pillow and the monkey are visitors from last week...



The first of my three whimsical pillows I'm sharing today is actually a starfish batik from an artist who has a gallery in St. Augustine. She specializes in water color and batik. Her colors are bright and fun and remind me of Key West...



This next pillow was given to me by Cecelia's mother, Missy, and I love it and treasure it. If anyone knows where I might locate another, I would really appreciate it...



And finally, I bought this sassy mermaid for half price in a shop in Havana (as in Florida)...



She's a whimsical girl with pearls in her tail...



Click on the picture, and you can see that she has on a tiny seed pearl necklace with a shell drop and golden jewels on her bikini top. She even has real curls...



And speaking of mermaids, I have been planning for some time to feature my good friend Kim, Mrs. Mermaid, in a blog post, and after our friend's daughter's wedding this week, our schedules should permit us to get the necessary photos of Kim's studio. Kim has some exciting news, but I will save that for my spotlight on her! Though, I must admit, it's hard to keep a secret like this! :-)
