Today is Pink Saturday at How Sweet the Sound. On this day, our lovely hostess Beverly and a group of her friends get together to share the wonderful world of pinkness. And pink is, indeed, wonderful!
I went to a bridal tea a few weeks ago, and there was a profusion of pink. My friend Peggy, the hostess, is a pink girl. So as you can imagine the flowers were that very color. I have pictures of the tea which I will share at a later date, but one thing I wanted to share with you today is some of the lovely nosegays that were positioned at intervals on the food table skirts. I brought some of these small arrangements home to play with and to attempt to preserve for the bride. Since my preservation efforts went awry, the nosegays are only preserved in photographs...
Nothing is prettier than the throat of a lily...

My friend Linda of Petals is a florist in Lakeland, and she is just outstanding with flowers. Here are some of the things she used to festoon the tables...
I think that is a galax garland, and I just love the hydrangeas mixed with the pink roses. I particularly love the large and small pink ribbons Linda used here. [Note; these are several nosegays bunched together]...
The ribbons remind me of a May pole...
I could see the ribbons twirling around the dance floor with an antique, white linen topper and a table skirt made from this Cowtan & Tout fabric called "Sanibel" as partners...
Or keeping company with certain dishes like this Haviland cake plate (I'm in love with the pink rose in the center)...

A bridal tea? ... I think I'm falling in love with those bouquets/centerpieces. I like the assortment of flowers but with everything pink down to the ribbons! Oh I'm sure they smell nice as well.
Blessed are the people who have the gift of flower arrangement. It really is not that easy and it makes things even more especial.

My Dear Shelia...I love the nosegays she used! The como of flowers looks very much like a wedding I did years ago...
About the only flowers you will be able to preserve or "dry" are the ros3es,spray roses and the hydrangeas,sigh! Most flowers grown from bulbs...lilies...tulips,daffodils etc. are almost impossible to preserve at home...sigh some more! I can hardly wait to see more photographs of the TEA..and LOL...I have snagged a piece of fabric for my evergrowing collection! LOL! How is dear Hubby doing? Missed ya!
