Three Birds With One Stone: 2nd Time Around/Three or More/Pillow Parade Tuesday! :-)

Today is a busy day! I'm joining forces on three events in one post. I debated about how to do this, and then I decided that the best way is to post my pillows because I have three or more of them, and most have been thrifted. But first, please allow me to make the following introductions. My good friend Diane of A Picture is Worth a 1,000 Words is the hostess of 2nd Time Around Tuesday; my new friend Tam of The Gypsy's Corner is the hostess for Three or More Tuesday; and two of my favorite artist-designers are hostesses Kari and Kijsa of Ask Kari and Kijsa for a new event called Pillow Parade.



The blue and white check pillow featured in the pictures above and below is from Laura Ashley, and I have had it for a number of years. I purchased it at a Laura Ashley outlet, and I have never tired of it. I only wish I had bought several. I love blue, and I love checks. It has had several lives, and currently it is enjoying life in an antique Victorian chair that was a gift from my mother in law. The little heart wreath was a Valentine sales item purchased at K-Mart a year ago. I needed a pop of pink, and this heart fit the bill...



Speaking of K-Mart, I was in there some time ago, and I spotted the following Martha Stewart plaid pillow with wood and leather frog closures and leather cording. It could be "pleather" which is pretend leather, but who's complaining! Normally, her items are reasonably priced, and while this one was certainly reasonable, I waited because I was already loaded down with Martha goodies. Then one day I was poking around in the sale items, and lo and behold, the pillow was there! I was so excited I nearly hyperventilated! And it was the perfect size, color, and shape for what I needed in our retreat's living room. Thank you, Lord! The leather chair was a thrifted find, too...



Next, I want to share some pillows that I found in an antique mall for only a few dollars each. I thought they were cute and fit with the sensibility I was going for in this room. I featured this one yesterday before I realized that the sisters were having a Pillow Parade...



This little seaside pillow has a fraternal twin who proclaims that it's summer...



The striped chairs were always in my grandmother's bedroom, and I'll show better shots of them in a future Blue Monday post. And speaking of which, I shared these yesterday, but I wanted to share the fact that the blue nautical pillow was purchased new and thrifted for a song...



These pillows thrifted from TJ Maxx have fun little ball fringe...



And I have a ton of needlepoint, these being only a few...







I have also shown this pillow before, but I think it's whimsical and fun. It was made by a batik artist and was not thrifted. The monkey was a gift from Mr. Magpie (and he still has on his Bandaid from a photo shoot the other day). The chair was a little second hand find...
