Pink Saturday: Shopping Day

Today I'm going to do something new and join in Pink Saturday hosted by that sweet Beverly at How Sweet the Sound. Pink is one of my favorite colors, but as some of you already know, I have a love affair with color! :-)

Yesterday was "shopping day" because I have two friends with birthdays this month! One of my favorite shops in Florida is Geo. L. Gaines Jeweler, a wonderful shop located in Downtown Lakeland, and I hopped on over there to do my shopping...

See this bag?

If you peep inside, you'll see what I call some very "shiny" objects. For inside this bag is a package in all of its pink be-ribboned glory...

And a package from Gaines is always a celebration in and of itself...

They took care to wrap each of these differently as the gifts are for two special sisters...

Which is nice because even though the sisters have similar tastes...

They have two very different personalities...

Don't you love the pink ribbons and the roses on the packages? To me, they're as much a part of the gift as the gift itself. A package from Gaines always makes this receiver smile, and I hope these two ladies will be smiling when they open them. [Missy, if you're reading this, it's time to stop, or you'll ruin the surprise!] They are such cuties, and I love them so, so, SO much!

Years ago, two of my other friends started me on a collection of tiny Herend vases, and I love to use the vases when setting my table. I have several of them in a pattern called Chinese Bouquet. The pattern comes in a variety of colors like raspberry, green, and blue. It just so happens that my collection is green, and I selected green for one of the sisters. The other sister has started a collection in raspberry, so she's getting that.

Here are two different styles of vases from my own collection. The first one is the one they are each getting in their respective color choices. Notice there's a design on the front...

And a different design on the back...

And even though, these flowers are more red than pink (sorry, I know it's a stretch, but if you add a little white to red, then you're good to go!)...

They give you an idea of how cute these vases can be when filled...

Here's another vase style. This is its back...

Its front...

And this is it filled with [faux-pink] flowers ;-) ...

Come to think of it, maybe that last style was the one I bought for them. All of those shiny objects in Gaines made it confusing. I was blinded by the bling! ;-) I didn't want to unwrap the package with the raspberry vase, but I found a raspberry vase in yet a third style online. So here's your pink...

And here's a little larger vase in the raspberry...

With Easter just around the corner, there's a lot of pink cuteness hopping our way...

And I can't wait to use my vases on an Easter table with little pink flowers and bunnies with pink ears, eyes, noses, and toes-es! :-)

That's my pink for today. I was going to post some other pink (in a whimsical bath) that requires sunglasses to view, but because this post turned out a little longer than I thought, I'll post that next Saturday instead. So please stay tuned...

Thanks for visiting. I look forward to visiting each of you! :-)

In the pink,

Mrs. Magpie (Sheila)

You must understand that Mrs. Magpie likes to respond to each and every blogger, not only on YOUR blogs, but on here. This is really a fun day! And I see so many of my friends out there. It's like Romper Room.... Magic Mirror, tell me today, did all my friends have fun at play??? I see my fellow Shelady and Sally and Rhondi and Muse and Tammy and Sherrie and Jane and Blondie and Susan, etc. etc. and so many others from so many other days like Blue Monday, T to T Tueday, Outdoor Wednesday, and Thankful Thursday, but then there are so many new faces, too! :-)

Hello my friend, we have been running the roads today and now I am way behind on my visits. sigh. We met friends about 80 miles from here for lunch. We have known them in FL. since 1964. They live in GA now and the town where we met is midway for both of us. a wonderful visit with wonderful friends. From there we met my family closer to home and had dinner at a big family resteraunt for my nephew's birthday. We arrived home at 7:30.

Now for your delightful post for Pink Saturday. The jewelry store sounds like I would love to shop there. Your gifts are lovely and the wrapping amazing. All so pretty in pink. The vases are different and very pretty. Your friends should be thrilled. I have to say those little rabbit friends are the cutest things ever. Their expressions are priceless. You are definitely thinking pink.

Love to you on Pinkie day...Jeanne
