Thankful Thursday & Mr. Magpie

Since Thankful Thursdays have resumed at Rhondi's Rose Colored Glasses, I am going to post my first one of the year. So on this lovely January Thursday, I am thankful for Mr. Magpie, my treasure! I could sit here all day and enumerate his many fine qualities, and there are many, but I'm going to go for the visuals here.

Mr. Magpie is particularly thoughtful when it comes to giving presents. His mother was good at this, so he learned at a tender age. Thanks, Mom! :-) Come December, he listens veeeeeeeeery carefully, and when we are out shopping, he takes copious mental notes. With a magpie for a wife, you have to because there are many, MANY shiny objects to admire. ;-)

Remember when I took you on a tour of Simply Silver a few weeks ago? Remember when I said my Magpie Eye had fallen on these particular shiny objects, meaning the shells?



Well, someone has been reading my blog at lunchtime, and look what was under the tree...



Isn't that the sweetest? I had told you I'd try to photograph the other gifts from there as people opened them, but I didn't get the chance because I forgot my camera! So I wanted to be sure and let you know that one object we spied on the tour landed in the magpie nest, and there were actually a set of four of these pretty shells! ;-)

Another thing Mr. Magpie sweetly gives me on various occasions is my favorite scent. Usually I get this for Christmas and birthdays because I go through a bottle in about six months, but this year, I got it in between birthday and Christmas because I had to buy a bottle last spring since I had used more than usual... lots of meetings. LOL! This is my favorite scent in the world and is one luxury in which I will indulge. It's called Vera Wang, and it smells divine! One of my neighbor friends told me it smells "expensive." It does, and I love it! So I'm thankful for my Vera Wang and the sweet man who gives it to me, and this bottle was 'just because' which made it all the sweeter...



A third really sweet thing Mr. Magpie did involved the following item. One night we were out at a store on the other side of town, and the store next to it was already closed. It is a precious antique/gift shop in a suburban strip mall of all places, and I spied these two cute little mice in the window. Well, the next time I spied them, they were under the Christmas tree...

And I love her little baby she's pulling on a sled...



Yep, Mr. Magpie gets big brownie points for these! There were other gifts, too, but these were just too sweet not to share. :-)

So, Mr. Magpie, if you are reading my blog at lunch today, know that in addition to these sweet gifts, I am thankful for YOU and for all the things you do for other people... your clients, your family, your friends, and for little ole magpie me! Thank you, dear one! And in case anyone is wondering, my blog name is Mr. Magpie's pet name for me! ;-) Oh, one more thing...the new blog header is a painting by the Impressionist painter Monet and is titled: The Magpie. The mister discovered it, too. He's got a bit of a Magpie Eye himself! :-)
